Fuel Watch a nonsense

Goodness knows why there’s so much fuss over the price of petrol and the Government’s proposed Fuel Watch scheme. All a bit of a PR smokescreen, really.

As if a government “watchdog” can help regulate prices in a free market. About the only thing it can do is let you know the price of petrol on any given day. You can do that yourself just by driving around.

And what does it matter if you can get it three cents cheaper in a suburb 10 kilometres away? You’d lose that saving simply by driving there.
